Technical Information

Timber Lining Boards:

Timber Lining Boards are used internally on walls and ceilings. These are generally thinner and are not suitable for external use.

A selection of boards are available pre finished.

Please Note: Only some timber boards are available in set lengths, surcharges apply if available. Most are random lengths.

Timber Cladding Boards:

These are thicker boards giving more stability and longevity, as they are exposed to outside weather conditions ie heat and moisture, and therefore will be prone to more movement.

Timber Cladding can be used internally, due to the thickness of the board, they are a much heavier option but will create more depth and texture in profile. However, the weight and suitability of these boards need to be taken into consideration prior to installing.

Cedar being a softer less dense timber is one of the lightest.

Features

There is a wide range of timbers available including Blackbutt, Spotted Gum, Silvertop Ash, Tasmanian Oak, Jarrah, Ironbark, American Oak and Cedar in different profiles, sizes and grades, depending on whether you prefer a clean modern look or a natural look showing more natural features of the tree ie. gum veins etc.

Timber lining and cladding boards generally come raw these can be finished on-site, to a finish of your choice. There are coatings available on the market which are virtually invisible retaining the colour of a raw board or you can stain to your desired colour. Another option is either oiling or waxing, giving a richer darker finish, enriching the grain.

There is a range of clear-coated prefinished Lining boards available in Tasmanian Oak or Cedar.

Another popular option is to use Prefinished Engineered Floors boards in Australian Natives or European Oaks, available in many different colours, these can look quite stunning as a feature wall.

Screening or battens are also another option, for separating living spaces, can be used instead of balustrading on staircases running to the ceiling or used on a wall for a textured look.
